Why you need your own Website
Reason 1
If anything, we both can agree that everyone is different. “That’s it. That is all you need to know as to why you need your own Website”. OK, allow me iterate further. God has given all of us an extraordinary ability. You may not have discovered yours, but once you do, then half the battle is won. Because all you must do now is express it on paper and make it virtual reality. If you express yourself, your content will be original because no one else is exactly like you. Take all that you have experienced in your life on a particular subject, extract the pieces that you are very excited about and write it down. Keep writing, organize it and submit it to the World Wide Web (www).
Now that I have told you that you need your own website, I must explain to you why the above is the most significant tool in determining how powerful your Web presence will be. Since you are a Direct Seller of Affiliate Marketer, you probably have a duplicated Website issued to you by the company you signed up for. This Cookie Cutter Website is shared by thousands, if not, millions of others who signed up for the same program as you. Now pat yourself on the back for becoming a part of “Public Enemy #1”.
Search engines seek out original relevant content for Web users. Search Engines only need one website of each Direct Sells or Affiliate Marketing Program. Your company issued website is just another page that has to be moved out of the way. Search Engines like Websites that add new content to the WWW and brings new users to the WWW…not Websites that duplicate information that is already there. The only genuine way to avoid duplication is to be YOU! Just write from the heart and you will be amazed of the original content you have in you.
Reason 2
Your advertisement capacity is limited. Major search Engines do not like duplicate websites. I f you do not believe me, set up an “Ad Words” account on Google and try to advertise your Website. Facebook will often block landing pages from affiliate marketing programs or put up warnings at the very least. You cannot advertise on Craig’s List unless you cheat. But at some point you will be caught. If you place your add in a newspaper, people often leave off your code and just type in the short URL. Who wants to type in a long URL. Take this one for instance, www.youravon.com/antongrantham. Why not just type www.avon.com? Now days people know what an affiliate link looks like, and in many cases do not want to be bothered by a local direct seller or affiliate marketer. If you want to leave advertisement material at various locations, you will find that someone else may already have left brochures, flyers, business cards, etc. Often times if you leave your advertisement material anywhere it will be discarded, because in many cases it is not taken seriously. Many people think your product is overpriced anyway. People know that you earn a commission and they believe it significantly bites into their discount. The bottom line is this… The major players in Internet Marketing are Google, Facebook and Craig’s List. None of them want anything to do with website number 60,052 of your affiliate program.
Many direct sellers may think off line advertising will take them over the top. Some Direct Sellers and Affiliate Marketers do quite well at flea markets, different vendor events where you may rent a space or booth, but you are limited as to how much money you can make. Did that statement sound crazy to you?
If so, read on. When you are standing/sitting in one spot, you are going to get a limited amount of traffic. There may be only 3000 people attending the event where you are set up. Out of the 3000 people, only 500 to 1000 may pass your table. You may in turn receive 20 to 100 sales. However, if you advertise on the WWW your sales potential is limitless. WWW has Billions of users. If you really think about it, you may determine that affiliate links are only designed for offline advertisement. Particularly, direct sales companies have a tendency to restrict certain forms of online advertisement. Many of them even restrict the way you advertise on social media sites like Facebook. You are confined to passing out physical material, like business cards and brochures with your direct sells/affiliate link.
Most People will quit your business opportunity, so you will need to recruit large numbers of people fairly rapidly on a regular basis in order to succeed today as a direct seller or affiliate marketer. If you recruit 100 people, 1 to 5 of them will work out and the rest will quit. I am bombarded every day with several business opportunities. It can be very easy to get distracted from your current business opportunity. Thus, many direct sellers and affiliate marketers bounce from one opportunity to another. There is a brief time in history where this was not the case. This was before the Internet arrived on the scene. Everyone is bombarded with Internet business opportunities, so you will need to be able to create enough team members to overcome the lost ones that leave by distraction.
The most significant handicap with Affiliate/Direct Sells websites is that you are limited to posting ads. In most cases when you post an ad, you are chasing after a customer rather than the customer coming to you. Put yourself in the buyer’s shoes. If you were shopping at a mall and a person stopped you out of nowhere, how would you respond? You would stare at the person and keep walking, or ignore the person all together. But if you went to the mall already knowing what you are looking for, you may stop the sells person in the store to get help finding a product. The same mind set applies online.
By having your own website, the customer can find you thru search engines. Notice: The customer found you because he found you during a search. You have something he/she needs.
Reason3.
People often buy from people they know…not strangers. I remember my Avon district manager giving me two boxes of Avon Brochures. I passed them out in front of a Wal-Mart until the manager ran me off. I know I passed out at least 200 brochures. The brochures contained my website, email address and phone number. I received no contacts from that advertising campaign…not one.
After you have depleted your warm market (Friends and Relatives) you must move on to find other team members and customers. You can attempt offline advertisement by wasting money passing out business cards to strangers, leaving pamphlets here and there or do what I did in front of Wal-Mart. But this does not work. I know what you are thinking, but I am not that ugly or smell that bad. If you want to consistently earn a six or seven figure income, you have no other choice but to venture into the WWW via search engines or social media. Here you must make friends or acquaintances by earning their trust and respect. But you must also have a good product to sell.
By having your own Website, you can incorporate newsletters, ezines, blogs, RSS Feeds, etc. to communicate with your customers. By delivering high quality content and a little MoneyWeed humor you will ultimately establish a genuine relationship with your audience.
Reason 4.
You need to be able to advertise multiple affiliate marketing and direct seller Programs. Do I sound contradictory? I have said before that Search engines do not like link farms. However, if you are an affiliate marketer you cannot rely on just one affiliate program.
Affiliate marketing and direct sales companies are no different than any other company in regards to maintaining viability. They go out of business just like anyone else. By having your own website, you can simply remove an affiliate/direct sales link and replace it with another link. And, of course, you can replace all the text affiliated with the removed links. You may have more versatility with your own website. With your own website you can support several affiliate programs and direct sales companies through an array of banner ads and strategically placed links. You may also embed social network plug-ins into your website. You can create opt in pages for your News Letter. You can do link exchanges, create back links to your website and numerous other tools can be added to your personal website.
Do your research before you sign up for an affiliate marketing/direct sales organization. If you are going to join an affiliate program, be sure they are members in good standing at the Better Business Bureau. If you join a direct sales company, be sure they are members of the Direct Sellers Association. Also, sign up under a “Super Affiliate” who can help you become a “Super Affiliate”. Do not sign up under your cousin unless he/she is a “Super Affiliate”. A “Super Affiliate” is someone who is typically a top seller/recruiter of the particular network marketing company they are with.
Limit yourself to 5 Network Marketing/Affiliate Programs. You have heard of the phrase, “Jack of all trades and master of none”. That is what you will be if you sign up for too many network marketing programs. You will not be able to answer all your team member’s questions or assist them with applications regarding your network marketing company. You will suffer information overload. How could you possibly be excited about that many programs? Become proficient with a few programs.
Limit each page to 3 or 4 affiliate/direct sales links, to prevent search engine prejudice.
Reason 5 is simple. You need your own website so you can smoke Money Weed all the way to the bank. Set up a Pay Pal merchant account to your Website. You never know, you may receive donations in addition to products you sell. Participate in reseller programs using your own brand. Establish “YOU” and your affiliate/direct sells success will follow.
